History
The Florida Watershed Journal (FWJ) was the vision of former Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) President, Kart Vaith. During his two terms as FWEA President, Kart wanted to establish a leading peer reviewed, technical journal on all of FWEA’s areas of interest. He appointed Director at Large, Nabil Muhaisen, to bring his vision to fruition. Over the next year, Nabil worked tirelessly to bring the first issue of the FWJ into publication. Nabil brought the Florida Chapter of the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) on board as a partner to FWEA and found excellent support in those that co-founded the FWJ with him on behalf of AWRA: Past President Patrick Victor, Dr. Steve Nix, and Dr. Chris Martinez. Many long meetings and hours were necessary to bring the FWJ into publication. The first issue of the FWJ was published during the Summer of 2008. FWEA and AWRA look forward to many more years of this productive and visionary partnership.
